Good leaders are made not born. If you have the willpower and drive, you can become a great and effective leader. Good leaders never stop developing, it´s a never ending learning process. You need education, training, and experience to master leadership.
As we all know, our business will grow in the same pace we ourselves grow as leaders. This becomes more and more true every day you spend in this business. The personal development you go through, will benefit you in all areas of life, not only here and your leadership skills are a very crucial part in your success.

Leadership is knowing how to talk less and listen more

leadershipThe ability to listen is probably one of the most important skills you need to develop to be able to be a top leader. The importance of YOU and what you want, is totally insignificant and all focus should be on the other person and his or hers wants needs and desires. To realize we are all different, we all have different goals, different reasons and most importantly different things that makes us feel good! To be a top leader, this is probably one of the first things you need to realize in your leadership. Everyone is not like you! You need to be extremely attentive to what the person in front of you want and be able to suit the business for them. Not for what YOU want them to do. If you master this and are able to coach and lead every person, find what drives them, show them the tool and then let them take off on their own journey, in the way that suits them and guide them in that, then you have come far in your leadership role.

The two most important keys to effective leadership

According to a study by Hay Group, a global management consultancy, these were the two most important keys to effective leadership.
  1. Trust and confidence in top leadership was the single most reliable predictor of employee satisfaction in an organization.
  2. Effective communication by leadership in three critical areas was the key to winning organizational trust and confidence.

The road to great leadership

  • Find something that you feel would need to be improved
  • Communicate and share your vision with your followers
  • Hand them a method or a tool to be able to solve the problem
  • A leader leads by example, a boss leads by telling. Get your hands dirty and do the job.
  • Keep the pains to yourself, share the glory and excitement with your followers.
