Prospecting and dating has a lot of similarities and one of the key element is developing relationship.

Dating Process

Let’s imagine this, Peter (aka network marketer) want to date Mary (aka prospect). So what’s Peter first step once he know that he want to date the Mary?
Naturally, he will talk to Mary by asking question and have some short conversation to make each of them at ease. Peter might find something in common during that conversation, so that Mary will not be so tense up. In this way, Mary are able to relate to Peter more and have her defense down. For most of the time, gals want to talk to a guy whom are more down to earth, therefore, if Peter approach can be more realistic and down to earth yet keep it interesting, he has already have the trust built.
After having exchange conversation for a few times, Peter would love to meet Mary face to face. Mary at that time is also comfortable meeting Peter as well because she might think Peter is a nice interesting guy that she might want to develop more with him.
And so they met up, chat for a while and this continue for a couple of time. When the time comes, Peter pop up the golden question to Mary “will you be my girlfriend?” Guess what, the answer probably will be a Yes!

In network marketing prospecting, the first step Peter does is to get to know Mary. This is the initial step where we get to know our prospect and build rapport. Without this building stage, do you think Mary will want to talk to Peter?
After building rapport, you can online learn Peter decide to ask Mary out. This is the stage in network marketing prospecting where the networker ask the prospect to view more information online or offline – depending on how your team does it. Because of the rapport build in the first stage, do you think prospect will not want to review the information you send to them?
The last stage in network marketing prospecting is to get the prospect to sign up, which is how Peter ask Mary the golden question.
So as you can see that prospecting is just like dating. It is not a one hit killer. The guy might get reject by the girl he want to woo and vice versa. Therefore, when you do prospecting, do not get emotionally attach to the outcome and you will do just fine.

How to invite prospects in network marketing is perhaps the number 1 thing to do when you have leads. However, many network marketers do it the wrong way and wonder why their hot prospect are not attending their meeting.
There are right and wrong way to do it. As I usually like to say, network marketing is not network selling. Leave the selling part to the sales professional. Now, some might disagree on what I say. I have to admit that, yes we are doing some form of selling, but in marketing, what we do is to attract the right person to respond to our ads.
In short, you can call yourself a consultant, advisor or a bridge that connect your prospect to your business. But why is that so that many networker whom know that they need to invite properly still fail?
There are a lot of variable but one thing that stood out (based on my experience) is the networker have not give enough reasons to invite the prospect to view their business presentation and here why.

For most part, network marketers are trained on using FORM to find their hot button so they can use the hot button to invite. However, many network marketers (including me) when first started out do not know how to dig deeper to find the real hot button of the prospect.

“Peter, this is a home business opportunity that may or may not be for you. It might be able to help you to (achieve their goal). However, no promise on it. If I give you [whatever your methods are] would you view it?”
So they are able to relate their problem to your business opportunity and they are more incline to take a look as to how your business opportunity would able to help them solve their problem.
This is how to invite prospects in network marketing. Once you master the invite, you can literally use the skill anywhere.

We watched this video last night and I directly said, we have to share this! This man named Simon Sinek, is talking about how communication and bonds with people are created. Why do we feel connected to some people straight away, but others we just don’t trust at all?

How can you attract the people of the same mindset and beliefs as yourself through communication? What makes us as people feel fulfilled?
We find this being extremely interesting since business is all about learning about people. Not matter which one you are in. Don’t try to fit in, have a belief and you will attract people of the same belief as you!! Let the world hear your message, where you want to go and do it with the intention of helping someone else. That is how we as a humans will feel like we have a purpose!

If your child was kidnapped, and there was a brick wall separating you and your child, you would not have to read a book on how to break down a brick wall. You would do it. So when you are in pursuit, you feel not mental pain, no desperation, no depression. You feel no pain when you’re in full pursuit. So be in full pursuit and become. In this article I'm going to explain how to follow-up or follow through after you have invited your MLM prospect to look at either your network marketing business or your product. This is the final step of the Inviting Formula, the formula I successfully use to get prospects to take a look at my MLM Business.

The Inviting Formula is:
Greet
Qualify
Invite
Handle any Questions/Objections
Close to Action
Follow-up or Follow-through

The purpose of the Follow-Up is to re-contact your prospect and move him/her towards what they've stated they need, want or don't want and it pertains to your network marketing business or product.

The purpose of the Follow-Through is when your prospect indicates readiness to act (join, enroll, sign-up in your MLM business) then you follow-through by delivering all they need to get what they've stated they need, want or don't want. This can start with completing simple distributor agreements, getting products, signing them up for services and then moving on to provide them with MLM training.

Your ability to be effective at Follow-up, and get people signed up in your network marketing organization, depends on the previous step of the Inviting Formula - Close to Action. When you close your prospect to action, they agree to do some things, and you agree to do some things. One of which was to re-contact them at a scheduled time.

Do that.

That's follow up.

You may need to follow-up or re-contact your prospect several times to get them to the stage where you follow-through with them.

I'm not going to pretend this is fun. It most certainly is not. But, it is a requirement to your success in network marketing.

I've identified three main areas about follow-up that need to be understood in order to be successful at it...and therefore successful in network marketing.

1. Close to action well, and you're follow-ups will work out a lot better.

2. Do...follow-up. Most don't, that's why most don't succeed.

3. It's not you. I know that doesn't make an ounce of sense - but read on and it will.

So let's just picture a typical MLM prospecting scenario.

Mr. MLM Business Prospect has this need/want. For this discussion I'm going to say he needs money to pay down his debts and get some "breathing room." I could interchange time or anything else here, but for this discussion I'm going to use money.

So Mr. MLM Business Prospect is very, very worried about his credit card bills. He's gotten himself in over his head. There was a time when he didn't have credit card bills. He could pay off the credit card the same month the charges came in. Then he charged something that required two or three months to pay it off. He used a little bit of discipline and reduced his expenses in other areas and with pride he sent in the payment and paid it all off.

And at some point he sunk too deep and wasn't able to pay it off in a month or two. He's been in debt for years. But Mr. MLM Business Prospect has pride. He is completely convinced he will pay it off. So convinced he starts erecting "walls of determination."

"I will not spend any money on anything I don't need!"

"Alright family, we need to tighten down on spending money."

"We can't afford that."

"Honey, can we go to the movies tonight?" "GOOD GRIEF - can't you see WE CAN'T SPEND ANY MORE MONEY!"

A post card hits his mailbox about making money from home. He calls and leaves a message. "I'm just curious..." he states on your message machine. You call him back. You do a good greeting and qualify. He doesn't express all the above - he's got pride. He wraps it all up in a tiny statement like - "Just looking to make some extra cash."

The whole time you're talking he's got one thing on his mind..."What's this going to cost me?" If it costs anything he's going to put that wall of determination between you and him. This "what does it cost" question doesn't come up because you're moving right through the Inviting Formula. You conclude that he does in fact qualify as a prospect for your MLM business and you invite him to look at an online movie. He agrees and you schedule a time to follow-up.

You call at the designated time - he doesn't answer the phone and doesn't return your phone call. You think it's you. You think he's turning you down. You think you need to go back to the drawing board because "this thing (your MLM business) isn't working."

Networker - Mr. MLM Business Prospect needs your help. He's trapped himself behind his "WALL of determination!" You need to help him get around, under, through, over this wall...which requires you to continually follow-up with him. Don't sit around looking at YOUR issues and dreaming up all kinds of stuff - it's not you. Call the man back, call him again, call him again and keep calling till you reach him - hold his hand and walk him through HIS wall.

That's what follow-up is all about. It's definitely not the best part about your network marketing business, but it's tje honorable thing to always do.

When thinking about...or dreading..."Doing the numbers," remember that every "number" is a human being. Help that human being and then follow-up is a lot easier, and you'll be amazed at how your MLM business will continue to grow.

What is an affirmation

So how you use this is that you take something that you want to be true in your life and act like you already have it in the present moment. Some examples of this could be:
I am good enough.
I am happy and grateful I have so much money.
I have the perfect partner.
You get the picture right? By writing daily affirmations this you can help develop a powerful and positive attitude towards life.

Our mind is a supercomputer that can help us accomplish anything, but we know that we are not using it to its capacity. Writing daily affirmations, you focus on the positive things you want in your life. By empowering yourself to write these daily affirmations you will manifest what you desire and plant positive seeds into your sub-concious mind.

You can do this every morning when you get up. It takes no more than 5 minutes. Write your daily affirmations and do this for a 60 day period. It can be easy to forget but it is worth writing it down so you can start accomplishing your goals. I highly suggest that you pick up this book.

The saying goes, “The average of your 5 friends is the average of your income.” Now you may be thinking, “That is not true Jay, you don’t no what you are talking about.” Take a look at your closest 5 friends. Who you spend most of your time with, hangout and go to eat with. That is your average income.
Now I’m not saying there is nothing wrong with that or your friends but when you look at the top earners in the industry who are their 5 closet friends? Exactly. This is not by accident it is by designed. Now you may be saying,”Well, it is easy for them because the already have money or success so they can get to change their inner circle group.” I can tell you that is not the case.

Actions to Change Your Inner Circle Group

Success leaves clues so you are going to have to surround yourself around successful people. This may be awkward in the beginning because you may feel out of place, don’t know anyone, or just plain feel uncomfortable. This is what personal development is about, living out your comfort zone.
Circumstances to change your inner circle will be uncomfortable at first but the more you continue to surround yourself around success people and the type of life you want, the more you will see a change and you will start making new friends and attract the people that you want into your life.

After listening to a webinar of a top earner in the industry, it was cool to hear him talk about some internet network marketing tips that I needed about to write about, but he went into detail about something specific that caught my attention.
He explained that to be successful in your internet network marketing business you need to look at your skills, and that will determine your income in correlation. Well, what did he mean by that?

Well we are talking about “soft” and “hard” skills. Soft skills are related to your personality; your attitude, your integrity and prosperity thinking, where your hard skills are your technical skills, physical tasks or things you learn in order to do a role.
So where your soft and hard skills merge, this is where your income is at and in order to increase your income you need to work on improving these skills.

Here are 7 top internet network marketing tips for success:

1) Believe in yourself (soft skill):  If you are self sabotaging yourself or do not see/feel that you deserve to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, then chance are that you won’t. Work on your self-belief, work on your feelings about money. This is one of the most underestimated soft skills and I believe it is one of the most important things to get right.
2) Take action every single day in your internet network marketing business:  Make goals and break them down into small achievable tasks every day. Make yourself a list of tasks to achieve for the week and sure you complete ever task on that list by the end of the week. I’ve mentioned in this post why event’s are so important to go to. After events, you are all fired up ready to go to come home to a loved one, maybe spouse, mom or dad, brother or sister, whoever. What do they do, try to bring your energy down and say you won’t be able to do it. Those events are filled with like minded people want to see to make it and do better. Most likely events are self improvement events. Teaching you how to improve yourself amongst other value based things.
If you are in a toxic environment, whether it is mild or major, where negative people are being negative or mean. This could be your family, friends, or co-workers. What you should not do is get upset at the negative people and this is why. Negative people are going to be negative. This is who they are. You are not going to change their minds, you may provide some type of value to them but you cannot change them.

You need to fill your brain with this type of information and have the positive people you want in your life. There are a 3 things you can do to improve yourself and start rewiring your brain with positive information.
1. Meditate. Meditation is a great way to clear you mind and release stress. Go to a quiet room or place where no one is and focus on breathing. You can do this 5-15 minutes a day and be fine.
2. Join classes. There are great communities, especially on meetup.com where you can go and join a personal development or law of attraction class. This is not only a great way to meet people who share the same interest as you but people who want more in their life. You will be inspired and motivated seeing yourself grow along with others.
3. Audio books. This is one of my favorites because you can take this everywhere you go. What I like to do when after I train in the morning is on the commute back home I’ll listen to a personal development audio and motivates me for the day. You do this 20 mins a day on a daily basis for 365 days a year, you will see results in yourself and growth within.

There are people in this profession who want mlm results and wonder why their situation hasn’t changed. They are comparing themselves to the gurus out there but haven’t made a sale yet, why is this? Well I’ll explain in today’s post.

There are people who get into network marketing, and it is a sexy profession, because of what mlm results it can bring to them, their families and their lives. The most common phrase said is that I need to make money. Of course you need money but what habits are you change to get it?

The difference between those who are getting mlm results and those who are staying stuck is their mindset. This is only difference. So instead of focusing on, I just saying need to make some money, you change your habits. Your current results of what you have today is determined by what habits right now.
It doesn’t make sense to focus on mlm results that you don’t have or want. It makes better sense to focus on your habits, right? So the next time you are thinking that you need to make money, focus on what habits you can change to get that mlm results.

Are you looking for someone to blame, reminiscing “if this were different” scenarios in your mind? Is it helping you? The worse thing you can do is search for who to blame when you deal with change. If you find yourself doing this and its not serving you, chunk it away. There is another way.
2. I love the last quote by Gail Sheesy. It is so true. Since things are changing all the time if we don’t react to those changes we are not growing. What happens most of the time when a change occurs, we look for the bad in it and focus on that which isn’t serving us and we are not growing. Focus on making lemonade out of lemons and make an opportunity for yourself to grow. Looking for bad in change you will find, seeing the opportunity you will find it works both ways every time.
3. To deal with change, can you grow? Absolutely. If you really are looking to be a happier person, you have to search within and make that internal growth. You will feel better inside yourself and won’t be affected in a negative way when things change around you.

I know I’m becoming a master in seeing opportunity in ever change that occurs in my life and turning it into something powerful. Even though some changes seem negative at first once I reassess in my mind I can see the opportunity and you can too. If you’re a person who is not comfortable or have avoided the friends and family conversation, that is why you’re not making any money in this industry, because it goes a lot deeper than that. So if you’re wondering why you’re not having any MLM success, I’m here to address that today.

Why do some have MLM Success and others don’t?

mlm successWhat’s the X-factor to why some people step in to this industry and crush it with MLM Success, make 5 figure monthly incomes and achieve things most people don’t do in a lifetime? Well, the underlaying factor here, is simply BELIEF. They are at that level where they can attract any MLM success and anything they want. They have that energy even through the phone line that makes people just want to be a part of them.

Why you’re not making any money

If you who are reading this now, is uncomfortable talking to your warm market, if you can’t pick up the phone and have a simple conversation right now about the industry, about what you’re doing to better your life. If this is you, this is why you’re not making any money. This is why you don’t have enough people to talk to. Because there is a disbelief there inside of you that you gotta figure out and get over right now! Why haven’t you talked to your warm market? The truth is that is your gold mine to MLM success. People join people they know, like and trust. No one but your warm market fits that part better.

“Hey Jo, I just got started in this industry, I don’t know if it’s gonna be for you, but I’m super pumped about it. Are you open to an additional source of income if it would not interfere with what you’re doing right now?

In this industry there’s a lot of leverage involved and if you bring a lot of work ethic, which I know you have, you can really create your own paycheck. It doesn’t matter to me weather you get started or not, as a friend, I wanted to let you know about this opportunity so down the road when I’m making all this money, you won’t get upset that I didn’t share this opportunity with you in the beginning.”
If you can’t have this conversation, stop whatever you’re doing and go to work on YOU. Dig in to some personal development, some Jim Rohn, some Tony Robbins, make sure you are on your primary company training call, the events, surround yourself with people that have the belief until you have it! The truth is, your disbelief is coming across the phone with anyone you call of talk to and will definitely affect your MLM success.

The solution to MLM Success

success or failureKnow that just about everyone have this problem in the beginning, but make sure you get over it quickly! The solution to MLM success is to ask yourself, why do you have this negative feeling about what you’re doing? Ask yourself what you need to do to let go of fear and negativity  in your life and how start embracing this industry 100% and not look back. Contact your warm market, let go, not take things personally because your warm market will not reject you. They will not say they don’t like YOU if they say no! The might say, it’s not for them because they don’t have the same drive as you, they are not an entrepreneur or don’t even want the better things in life. That’s cool! Great, no harm done, we’ll catch a beer next week!
So surround yourself with the people that have the results you want. It doesn’t have to be anyone you know or meet every day, it could be Jim Rohn that you listen to every night. To have MLM success, spend your time with the people who get it.  Either let this business go, or stop the BS and give in, get the belief up. When you do, this is not going to be a struggle, you will enjoy because you know you’re on the right path. You’re following in the footsteps of some of the highest income earners out there.

You should know that mlm prospecting is the name of the game if you want success in network marketing.   Facebook, article marketing, video marketing, linked in, etc., these are  strategies for lead generation.  But what happens after you generate the lead?  You’ll need to do something that most marketers fear the most, PICK UP THE PHONE!

MLM ProspectingThere is a pain in your chest and butterflies in your stomach.  You fear mlm prospecting to the point where you engage in avoidance behaviors.  I know you know what that is, but for those who don’t, let me explain.
Basically, you do whatever it takes to avoid the perceived pain that you associate with mlm prospecting.  It could bethe pain of  rejection, hang-ups, failure.  So what do you do?  You write another article or blog post, chat on Facebook, clear your trash in your email every 5 mintues, click the refresh button in the back-office of your primary opportunity hoping and praying that someone magically signed up without you speaking to them (not likely), go make a sandwich, turn on the radio, read a book, etc.
You engage in any avoidance behavior to disassociate yourself from mlm prospecting.
And here’s the kicker…
To justify it all, you tell yourself you’re busy.  PFFF!  Busy being efficient but not effective.
If you don’t get over your fear of the phone, you will not make a dime in this industry. That’s the truth and it hurts.

The First Steps To MLM Prospecting To Help You Overcome Your Fear

MLM Prospecting1)  Change your thinking  – You fear mlm prospecting because you associate it with pain, rejection, etc.  You have  created a negative outcome in your mind and since what you focus on expands, that is exactly what you will get.  The more you think it, the bigger it gets until it turns into a gripping, paralyzing fear.
Now, change your association to mlm prospecting.  What will mlm prospecting do for you? Build your confidence, build your bank account, enable you to take that vacation you’ve always wanted, big checks, a new car, etc.
Change what you associate mlm prospecting with and let that be your focus.  Write it down on a note card titled “What MLM Prospecting Gives Me”.  Read it several times a day and before you pick up the phone.
Now, this is just to get you to pick up the phone.  Once the other party gets on the line, your focus needs to shift from you, to them and their needs.
2)  Build your confidence through self development - Mindset is everything when it comes to mlm prospecting.  It is the foundation upon which you will build your business.  Unstable, unsure foundation = Unstable unsure business.
You must learn to identify, dig out and evict all of the self-limiting doubts and beliefs you have about yourself; some of which you may not even be aware because they’re hidden deeply within your subconscious mind.
Reading the right books will help you do do that.  Make a commitment to read 10 pages a day of a good book.
Compound it with listening to 15 minutes of something good daily.  You can go on YouTube and Google people like Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, Les Brown, etc.  There’s a ton of motivational, inspirational material online.
The small amount of time it takes to do this daily is nothing compared to the benefits you’ll gain for yourself, your business and life overall.
3)  Get an attraction marketing system  – Using an attraction marketing system allows you to generate leads while branding yourself, so you can be sure that people who leave their contact information want what you have to offer.  They want to hear from you.  You’re not chasing them, it’s the other way around.  Why would someone leave their phone number for you to call them and then curse you out and hang up?  Doesn’t make sense, does it?

Script For MLM Prospecting

MLM ProspectingNow that your mind right, your confidence is built and you’re ready to charge ahead, what are you going to say to your prospects?
Many strugglein this area, but you don’t have to.  MLM prospecting is an art and to be great you must practice.  I studied and read scripts to build up my confidence and until I get into a flow.
Here’s an cool script from Recruiting & Prospecting expert Todd Falcone that he uses to recruit professionals such as real estate agents, mortgage brokers, insurance agents, etc.  Why?
Because their primary tasks include, selling, prospecting, interacting with people, overseeing responsibilities and they get paid from commissions.  Sound familiar?  They are already doing what we do as network marketers.
You can use this script when you’re out and about doing your daily routine.
If you pass a house for sale, take down the number of the agent and address.  When you go to the store or local restaurants, doctor’s appt, etc., pick up business cards.
Then call with this script:
You: Hello “John Realtor.”  This is ______________.  How are you?  I saw your house for sale on 111 Street in Dallas.
Them: They may respond, oh great, it’s still available, do you want to schedule a viewing?
You: Actually, I live in the area already.  I’m an entrepreneur and I love working with super sharp people like yourself.  My business is expanding in the area.  John, I just have one question for you, do you keep your options open to generating cash flow outside of what you’re currently doing?  (Do not pause until you’re done)
(You can adapt this to their profession and where you found their info)
If they say No: Great, just thank them for their time and end the call.
Most people will say Yes.
If they say Yes: You’ll need an easy “Go To” Business Script in your arsenal.

MLM prospecting strangersThis is could be natural if you are a social person but if you are not then this may take a little courage. When mlm prospecting a stranger there are three things that you want to do while doing this. There are very simple and duplicatable. Before I get into that you can practice with anyone you know or don’t know it doesn’t matter but the more you do it the easier it will become. Let’s paint a picture here. You are downtown leaving a meeting, and waiting to meet someone else. You see this stranger coming out of a building so you decide to prospect him. The conversation would go something like this.
You: Hey, how you doing my name is ________
Prospect: I’m good. I’m John
You: Hey John, Do you work there?
John: Yea I do.
You: How long have you been there?
John: (Give you an answer)
You: What exactly do you do there?
John: Well, I’m a (they’ll tell you)
You: Oh that’s cool, what do you like about that?
John: (They’ll give you an answer)
After you have built some rapport change the channel a little bit.
You: Just throwing it out there, would you be open to a side project if it didn’t interfere with what you are currently doing? I’m building in this area and I like to connect with good people
John: NO
You: Ok cool, have a great day!
John: Yes or what is it?
You: You know what it may or may not be for you but I’ll tell you what, give me your information, your email and phone number and I’ll send you over a short video. Watch it, check it out and if you are interested great then we can talk more.

Simple Steps in MLM Prospecting

Simple Steps in MLM ProspectingYou  start by giving a compliment or comment, if they smile or show some type of positive enegry then you can continue with mlm prospecting. This is important because you do not want to be wasting your time on negative people. This is someone you may want for in your business. After the compliment, start asking questions, connect with that person and build rapport. This could be about the job, about there family, recreation, whatever. Then change gears towards then end of  the conversation and see if they are open. If they are you get there information and get out of there. Then follow up with them the next day. This is a simple three step process. You connect with them, get there information, be busy and get out. The most important part is follow up with them the next day.
Don’t miss the opportunity to talk to these people but you should only to talk to these people. Don’t try to present, lead with your opportunity, or close them.

It helps avoid awkwardness which you can use to have less resistance from your prospect and pull them towards you instead of the pushing yourself onto them. You can use this to talk with people which will:

This indirect approach was taught to me by Ray Higdon and it works like clockwork.
Here is a sample conversation in mlm prospecting tips.
You: What is it that you do Mark?
Mark: I’m a mortgage broker from Baltimore, MD.
You:  Cool, how long have you been doing that? Do you enjoy it? (Just listen right here)
Mark: What is it that you do?
You: I actually teach people how to create an additional income from home. Bill, as a broker do you mainly focus in the local area?
It’s brilliant,right? Now Mark will ask pause and will want you to clarify what you meant about creating that additional income from home, because you were focusing on Mark and listening to what he had to say. It is a good approach right? If he doesn’t stop and ask you for more information than you can just touch base with Mark on another time.

Why?
Because most network marketers have been using the same pitches to invite people since the golden years of MLM.
Does any of this sound familiar?
“It’s a visual presentation. You have to come to the meeting.”
“Business opportunity.”
“Retire in 3-5 years.”
“Are you keeping your business options open?”
Most network marketers completely sabotage any chance of getting people to look at their presentation as soon as they open their mouths to make the invite.

How Do I Invite People to My MLM Sales Presentation?

Here are three sentences that you can say to people to get them to your meeting even if you’re new to network marketing.
Ready?
Here it goes:
“I don’t have a lot of time right now. I’m working on a project. When will you be free?”
If they want to know what it is right away, just repeat, “I don’t have a lot of time right now.”
Keywords: don’t > have > time.
Of course, this is assuming you’re talking to someone (by phone) that you already know and that person is sharp and business oriented.
And did you notice how I didn’t mention business opportunity, visual presentation, retire in 5 years, or anything else that might tip them off?
And did you also notice how I didn’t invite them to a party and take them to a network marketing hotel meeting instead, or do any of the other stupid stuff that network marketers do that makes us all look like a bunch of dummies?
Personally, I don’t like to invite.
I prefer the system that gets leads to approach me.
It’s a system called:

Inviting is a critical skill in the network marketing, MLM industry. You must master how to invite a prospect to take a look at your business or product without him or her feeling pressured. Whether you are inviting a prospect to go to your website, listen to an audio, or even come to a live presentation, you will need to invite him or her to do so. I will center my discussion here to the telephone because it does differ slightly when you are in person. Here are some tips for you to have your contacts eager to act on your invitation.
Don’ts:
1.       Do not sell!  You are inviting.
2.       Do not convince.
3.       Avoid the temptation to stay on the phone to chit chat.
4.       Don’t allow them to control the conversation.
5.       Don’t be pushy.
6.       Don’t beg.
7.       Don’t call too early in the morning nor too late in the evening.
Do:
1.       Be positive!  Shake negativity away. Know that you will reach prospects and your invitation will be accepted.
2.       Be excited and upbeat!
3.       Do a “power move” before making the call.  A quick lunge or two. A jumping jack or some type of whole body movement to get your blood flowing. Do it in between each call to keep you fresh!
4.       Stand up when making calls.
5.       Smile. People can hear your smile through your voice. Greet and establish brief rapport with prospect.
6.       Have a plan of action in mind BEFORE you call. What is the goal of your call? What is the ONE action you want your prospect to take?
7.       Use a script!  Yes!  If your company or upline doesn’t have some suggested ones. Make your own. You need to stay on point when calling. A script helps you stay where you need to be in conversation. Note:  Use a script but don’t sound “scripted” or read from it. Use it as a guide only especially if you find that you get off track.
8.       Use the prospect’s first name only. Don’t be too formal.
9.       Clear the time.  “ Do you have a second?”   “Great!”
Do not say a minute because that means you want to conversate. A second means brief! Get in and get out. Obviously, if you have caught the prospect in a tough moment, you definitely want to know. Simply call back.
10.   Get to your point quickly. Be direct. Tell them why you are calling.
11.   Keep your call brief. Figure no more than 3-5 minutes. Time yourself. Initial calls-the invite should be short. Follow-ups are longer but keep a timeframe in mind. You want to avoid lingering and allowing the prospect room to control the conversation.
12.   Give direct, specific directions to your prospect. Tell them nicely what you’d like them to do. If you want him/her to look at an online presentation, give them the web address and ask them if they can view it “NOW”.  If they can’t do it right away, find out when he/she can. This will allow you to follow up properly. If you will be physically meeting with him/her, give them the address. I think you see where I’m going with this.
13.   Give an alternate of choice if necessary. If you are inviting to an appointment, you set the day and time by giving two choices. Ex. “Is Saturday or Sunday better for you?” and then “Is one or two o’clock better for you?” Use the words “better for you?” It gives the prospect a sense of control though not giving control.
14.   At the end of the call, repeat their first name and your appointment time by saying               “____ (first name), I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 1:00.”
15.   Practice makes perfect!  The more you invite, the better you will get at it!

Invitation is an Art in any MLM business. Inviting your prospectus over to the phone is a very very important key element for your constant business growth.
Follow 10 below tips which I wanted to share, especially for the people who are very new into the MLM Business.
1. Before you give the Business Invitation, make sure you are not travelling, you are in piece area. Don’t show that you are in hurry and trying to wind up the call. All these things give a better impression.
2. Listening is also a very important factor, which you should master. Without listening to the person, you cannot pick his HOT button. So first listen and understand about him, ask about him like – his profession, his area of stay in city, and his intentions to “Join your business”.
3. Before telling anything about Business, tell him about the money and the growth. Give him one example for the earnings of your Up line.
4. Based on the information captured by you, pick his one HOT BUTTON and speak according to him and give the Business invitation.
5. Stand in front of mirror while inviting over to the phone, make sure you are smiling a bit. Your actual smile image gets reflected and puts impression onto the person you are talking. Behave like a Gentleman.
6. Don’t be a beggar, show some attitude, Remember more degree of attitude gets converted into arrogance. So avoid arrogance. There is very thin line difference between attitude and arrogance.
7. Be honest and simple over to the phone
8. Talk less, crisp and precise
9. Don’t reveal full information, just on the phone. Create curiosity and invite.
10. Make sure you exchange the Venue/time and contact details.

Secrets of the “Heavy Hitters”

Let us take a look at these pointers:

1. Be prepared to handle rejection. Who said that any kind of selling was easy? But it all comes down to attitude. If you can understand that a rejection of the opportunity that you are so excited about is not are jection of you as a person, then you are on your way. “No” must be interpreted as “next”. This is easier said than done but it’s the price of success. The Internet and other new technologies now allow some rejection proof approaches, such as using lead capture pages and autoresponder messages. These methods serve to “pre-qualify” your prospects. There still must come a time when you will have to be in personal contact with your down line members however.
Part of preparing your mind for these ‘negative’ people is to fill your mind with positive messages. There are many Network Marketing and “positive thinking” speakers that will help you keep your spirits up. You will be surprised to discover the boost that motivational tapes and books can give to your attitude in general. This is one of the benefits of being in this industry—it teaches you to have a brighter outlook on life.

2. Be realistic in your expectations. To expect too much too soon will only set you up for a possible let down. Accept that this is a legitimate business that requires investment of time and effort and you must be prepared to sow the seeds for the harvest you expect to reap. Who builds a house without first considering the cost?
When you are quoted the salaries of the big recruiters, be sure to ask how much time and money they spent to get to that level. This information will give you a clearer picture.

3. Once you find a reputable company be prepared to stay for the long haul.
This goes without saying but if you expect to succeed you must stay the course. The most successful people in life have gone through very trying times but they stuck with it and left a legacy behind. It is often said that tough times don’t last but tough people do. The same is true for those seeking to build a solid residual income. You should commit yourself to at least 3 years before making a decision either way.
Jumping from one opportunity to the next only shows a lack of decision and stability in you planning. Teenagers are expected to fall in and out of love every few months, but married couples have committed for life. Be prepared for a marriage not a fling!

4. Do not make the business more complicated than it needs to be. Stick with what works.
There is always the temptation to improve on the methods that experienced networkers have shown to work. Go with what works, not with what should work. If you find a system that has been working just plug into it and squeeze the last drop of success you can get from this. This means that you must show yourself teachable to your up line and be willing to teach your down line members the same system. Success normally comes from doing what works over and over again until it becomes second nature.
Another note of caution is that you should not expect from your recruits what you are not doing yourself. There a many networkers who will give advice that they are not willing to follow. In other word they get their team members to “do the dirty work” for them. This practice takes away from the real meaning of duplication—I’m doing the same thing that I’m teaching you to do.

5. Train and then let loose!
The real power of Network Marketing is the power of leverage. Rather than using 100% of your own effort, you are using 1% of the effort of a hundred. If your down line members become too dependent upon you then they will be using 110% of your effort. This can easily lead to rapid burnout.
So the key here is to train your frontline members, then train them to train their frontline members. As you gain leadership experience in the business then you can occasionally pick up the slack for a colleague. The important thing here is that your team members understand that effort is required on their part or they cannot expect your support.
Here are some additional insider tips on really hitting the ground running. These ‘secrets’ are learned from the study of those who have made millions in this industry.

6. Talk to many at the same time instead of one at a time.
We just mentioned that the real power of Network Marketing is leveraging your efforts. Did you ever notice that the real successful people in this industry never talk to one person at a time? Just think about it. Your recruiting message or script will be the same for each prospect. You are introducing them to a business opportunity. If you were to use the telephone to do your presentations, how many prospects can you talk to in one day? So here is what the serious marketers do:
(a) Set up a toll free number with a recorded message and invite callers to leave their number and other contact information.
(b) Advertise conference calls where many people can join and listen to your presentation at the same time.
(c) Run a message board on your website where people can ask questions and discuss the business.
(d) Host an online conference chat room.
(e) Buy leads and load them into an auto responder with your prospecting message. Be careful of here to avoid SPAM complaints. Also confirm that the auto responder company that you use allows you to use purchased leads.

7. Target other network marketers.
This may seem to go against the issue of not jumping from opportunity to opportunity, but it is much easier to work with someone who has already worked in the industry than a totally new person. There are list brokers who specialize in mailing list of distributors from companies that have closed down. For these individuals you don’t have to teach them to fish, they already know, and that can be a plus.
In addition to this, you can expect that if they join forces with you they can bring their entire down line from the old company. Of course, one challenge is that these seasoned marketers will also be more difficult to recruit since they will take a more critical stance of your opportunity.

8. Target business-minded people and entrepreneurs.
Here again you are targeting people who are already motivated and understand what it takes to run a successful business. These individuals would also already be networking in their businesses and therefore would be in a position of influence. Such people include chiropractors, real estate agents, sales people and internet marketers. These professionals come in contact with a large number of people and could be the boost that the organization needs. The more ‘business minded’ your prospects are the more likely you will recruit them.

9. Make a written plan with all your goals and steps to get there.
Psychologists tell us that when we write something down we are more likely to commit to it. That’s why you are required in a contract to place your signature on the dotted line—helps you keep your end of the bargain.
Every business owner should have a goal to which they are aspiring. If you aim for nothing you are likely to strike it. If your plan is to get to a residual income of $10,000 per month then you should set smaller goals on your way there. Say, $3,000 per month after the first year, then $7,000 per month after the second year and finally $10,000 per month by the third year.
A very important part of writing out this plan is to calculate what is required to get to your goal. So if you must call 20 people to get 1 ‘yes’, and that prospect is worth $50 per month to you, you will know how many calls you have to make per month to get to $3,000 per month in one year. Looks simple, but most people don’t do this kind of calculation and so they run their businesses with blind expectations.
Knowing where you are going is one of the easiest ways to get there!

10. Continually work to improve your people skills, especially your listening skills.
At its core, Network Marketing is really people management. If you don’t like dealing with people then this is not for you. You are always going to be in direct or indirect contact with people and so you should brush up on your people skills.
One of those skills that you’ll need to primarily focus on is your listening skills. One of the most common downfalls of Network Marketingers is that they talk too much and don’t listen enough. This applies to the majority of salespersons. You have to always take time to listen to the customer because if you do - they will tell you what they are looking for! Here are some quick tips to improve your listening skills (particularly on the telephone):
(a) Well ... just stop talking and listen
. That’s the toughest part.
(b) Learn to view things from the prospect’s position. Is your prospect a single mom struggling to make ends meet? Empathize and provide the solution.
(c) Restate what the person tells you to be sure that you understand what they are saying. This also makes the other person feel “heard.”
(d) Try not to interrupt them while they are talking—another hard one.
(e) Ask a lot of questions for clarification but not to be confrontational.
(f) Avoid jumping to unnecessary conclusions and learn to “listen between the lines.”
(g) Smile! You’ll be surprised to see what this does to your tone of voice.

11. Stay informed in what’s happening in the industry by subscribing to at least one professional Network Marketing journal.There are many magazines to choose from and many books written on the subject of Network Marketing. As an “expert” in the field you should be able to speak of it in a professional way and be aware of the latest trends and technologies available to you. Think of how impressed your prospects will be when you can quote them the latest statistics. This helps you to build immediate credibility with your prospects. If you expect to make $20,000 per month, think about what other professionals with similar salaries had to endure before they reached that level, a doctor for example—years of medical schools, educational loans and internships! Don’t be skimpy on your education.

12. Write your own book or produce Network Marketing tapes and CD’s.
This may appear to be a tall order but it is not as difficult as it first appears. First you can publish an E-book even if you have this book written by a professional ghostwriter. You can place a bid at a website such as .com and have writers bid on your job. This book will have your name on the cover and no one has to know that you never wrote one word!
Audiotapes and CD’s can be produced at home using a stereo recorder or in a local sound studio. You can also use your computer with the appropriate software and hardware to do this. There are many companies that will reproduce these recordings for you at minimum cost. Having your name on these products can be a real income booster. People want to know that they are following a leader and that is the way you are presenting yourself.
